Blake Lively stole the show and showed out at the 2022 Met Gala
Tonight we witnessed one of the most anticipated nights in fashion as the stars hit the red carpet to attend the 2022 Met Gala. This gala is not just for glitz, glam, and costumes it serves as an annual fundraiser for the Met’s Costume Institute. The Met was founded on April 13, 1870, "to be located in the City of New York, to establish and maintain in a said city a Museum and library of art, of encouraging and developing the study of the fine arts, and the application of arts to manufacture and practical life, of advancing the general knowledge of kindred subjects, and, to that end, of furnishing popular instruction."
Vogue’s own Anna Wintour has held the throne as met Queen since 1995, curating an exclusive guest list, seating arrangement, and dress code. Each year the theme is inspired by different wings in the museums' exhibit and this year we will be served ‘Gilded Glamour’. What does that mean? Well, this refers to the late 1800s America that was led by industrialization and innovation.
While everyone did what had to be done we have to spill the tea on our top ten looks of the evening. Drum roll please!!!
Blake Lively
Gabrielle
Cardi B
Gigi Hadid
Alicia Keys
Teyana Taylor.
Lala Anthony
Megan Thee Stallion
Lori Harvey
Winnie Harlow
All these ladies served looks that were very innovative to me and fit their personalities so well. Big up's to Donatella because she curated some of my favorite looks this evening. Although Rihanna did not appear tonight she still managed to steal the show as the Met Museum and Vogue Magazine debuted a marble statue of the icon as tribute to her in their exhibit.
Per usual the Met Gala did not disappoint. We will see you next year on the infamous steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
