Alabama's takes Notre Dame's luck and defeats them to go back to the National Title game, 31-14

Alabama- The Crimson Tide gets the victory over Notre Dame and will return to the National Title Championship



On Alabama's opening drive, they marched down the field and scored a touchdown with Mac Jones throwing a 26-yard touchdown strike to Devonta Smith to go up 7-0 against Notre Dame in the first quarter.


Najee Harris was a huge factor for the Crimson Tide on their next possession. Harris hit Notre Dame with a 45-yard scamper, which included him hurdling a defender to put his team in the redzone. A play later, Jones threw his second touchdown of the day to Jahleel Billingsley to extend their lead, 14-0.


Alabama's defense allowed Notre Dame to chew up eight minutes of the clock, which lead to a one-yard touchdown on a fourth and goal, to cut the lead to a one possession game, 14-7. Alabama answered the Fighting Irish's touchdown score with a score of their own.


With under 10 minutes left in the half, Jones hooked up with Smith for a 35-yard touchdown to extend their lead back to fourteen, 21-7. Alabama finished the half with 279 total yards and a two touchdown lead over the Fighting Irish.


Midway in the third, Crimson Tide intercepted Ian Book. Alabama took the turnover and turned it into another touchdown to build a comfortable lead, 28-7. Early in the fourth quarter, Alabama iced the game with a field-goal to stretch the lead, 31-7. Scores after the field-goal was pretty much non-existent, as the Crimson Tide went on to win the game.


Jones finished the game with 303 yards through the air and had 4 touchdowns

Harris had 15 touches for 125 yards

Smith finished with 7 receptions for 130 yards
