Aces Struggle to find their rhythm against the Mercury and suffered their second loss of the season

Orlando- The Las Vegas Aces lacked energy and effort as the Phoenix Mercury handed the Aces their second loss of the season.

The Aces struggled to get back on defense early on against the Mercury and had to dig themselves out of a double-digit lead in the first half. Diana Taurasi and Skyler Diggins Smith combined for 14 points in the first quarter and had the Aces on their heels. Turnovers killed the Aces momentum, as the Mercury turned them into transition points. The Aces went on an 8-2 run to cut the lead down to 19 with under three minutes left in the half. Aja Wilson tried to will her team back into the game. She hit a couple of mid-range shots and put a lot of pressure on Mercury's defense driving to the hole. Wilson had 15 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds at the half, as the Aces cut Mercury's lead to nine. At the end of the half, the score was 50-41.

In the second half, the Aces tried to climb their way back in the game as Angel McCoughtry started to catch fire as she hit some big shots to cut the lead back to single digits, but the shooting from the Mercury was superb, as they shot around 50% for the game. The Aces did not have their supporting cast to help them out. Kayla McBride started to heat up late in the 4th quarter, but it was not enough as the Aces suffer their second loss of the season. The final score was 102-95. Wilson finished the game with 17 points, 3 assists, and 8 rebounds. McBride finished the game 16 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds.
