Raiders defeat the Chargers 27-20
Before the season started everyone knew the Las Vegas Raiders had talent. However, having talent and maximizing on that talent are two different things. The Raiders started slow at 2-7. They have now hauled off three straight victories as they improved their record to 5-7. Sunday Raiders beat their division rival the Chargers 27-20. It was a complete team effort as multiple players for the Raiders had their best performances of the season. That includes Chandler Jones, who entered the game with just 0.5 sacks. Jones had three on the day. The Raider's defense punished Justin Herbert all day, sacking him a total of five times. The Raiders offense were able to capitalize off what may have been their best defensive performance all year. Davante Adams caught two touchdowns and totaled 177 receiving yards. He was all over the field and the Chargers had no answer for him. Adams has now totaled over 1,100 yards on the season and has scored 12 touchdowns. Josh Jacobs who was coming into Sunday’s game the leading NFL rusher had another 100-yard game. Jacobs had 26 carries for 144 yards and a touchdown. The Raiders now sit at 5-7, the Raiders are still well outside the playoff picture. However, they are in contention as they are just two games out of a wild card spot. The Raiders have a short week playing against the injury ravaged Rams on Thursday Night Football, the Raiders will have some meaningful football in December.
