Queen Latifah honored at the BET Awards with the Lifetime Achievement Award

Los Angeles- Queen Latifah was recognized and honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award on Sunday, during the Bet Awards.

Surrounded by her peers, Queen Latifah was bought to tears, as BET recognized her Hip-Hop career, as well as the impacted she has had within the music industry. In her career, Latifah gave women of color a platform to use while spitting on the mic. In a "Black Empowerment" speech, Latifah thanked all of those who influenced her, the support that she had, and the fans who continued to rock with her. At the end of her speech, she had a "Mic drop' ending.

Check out what she had to say.

"I'm gonna get off this stage, but I thank you so much for all of you, the fans for supporting every crazy-ass thing I've done through the years. And thank you for making Equalizer No. 1. Eboni, my love. Rebel, my love. Peace. Happy Pride!"
