Phillies jump all over D-Backs in Game 1, 5-3

From start to finish it seemed like Phillies had some peep in their step. In the first three innings, their hitting was on one and they scored three times to go up early. Offensively, they were good, but defensively they had a few mistakes that allowed Arizona to get back into the game.

Zack Wheeler was doing well until he attempted to go with a curve ball that was hit out of this world by Arizona, which sparked some type of offense for the D-Backs. However, the Phillies put the game to rest as Bryce Harper scored.

“All season, playoffs obviously it means a little more, but shutdown innings are big for pitchers,” Wheeler said. “We take pride in that. It’s not always an easy thing to do.”
