Mets take a victory over the Dodgers, despite Max Scherzer being tossed
Mets win 5-3 despite of Pitcher Max Scherzer being tossed in the 4th inning after being accused of using a sticky substance to enhance his pitching.
After the game, Scherzer spoke with reporters and had this to say about the incident. "I swear on my kids’ lives, I’m not using anything else,” the veteran explained. “This is sweat and rosin. Sweat and rosin. “I’d have to be an absolute idiot to use anything else. I literally go out there with sweat and rosin, I get ejected
The game remained scoreless until the 5th inning when Mets OF #9 Brandon Nimmo hit a two-run homer off Dodger Pitcher Noah Syndergaard. This was the start of the Mets onslaught of hits and scores. Nimmo singled and scored on OF #19 Mark Canha’s two-run double in the ninth to complete a 5 hit game and closed the door on the Dodgers hopes.
The Dodgers had their chances in the bottom of the 8th inning, but couldn’t come through in crunch time.
