Angela Yee leaves Breakfast Club to start her own show with iHeart Media

Angela Yee dropped a major twitter bomb on the fans of the world’s most dangerous morning show yesterday stating that “the Breakfast Club as you know it is now over”, leaving us with questions. Is this the end of the Breakfast Club entirely? Is Yee making her own career moves? We got clarity this morning as her co-host Charlamagne Tha God gave her the floor to give us some clariTEA on the tweets before the Donkey of the Day segment began.

“Yes, so this is exciting,” Ye said unapologetically. “They approached me up here at IHeart, Thea, had a sit down with me and told me that they are going to give me my very own show. I wasn’t sure of what was happening when she first told me but I am going to be leaving The Breakfast Club”.

IHeartMedia sent out the announcement shortly after the interview spilling the tea on “Way Up With Angela Yee”, a weekday show syndicated by IHeartMedia. Keeping it spicy as Yee does, you can expect the hot topics and controversial conversations related to relationships, hip-hop, pop culture, and headline news to continue. The show will debut across at least 30 IHeartMedia stations, including The Breakfast Club’s home station Power 105.1 in New York.

“As far as having a nationally syndicated show and somebody in my position, a woman, a black woman up here. I don’t know. I mean It’s a rarity and it’s a great opportunity and it’s not something that I take lightly. I am really excited!”. Don’t fret though, The Breakfast Club will still live on with DJ Envy and Charlamagne and Ye will still be around until the launch of her show in the fall.
